Welcome to the first entry for the Boy Scout Troop 226 Summer Camp blog! We will be keeping this up-to-date, day by day with updates and pictures from camp.
Today we arrived at Camp Tolochee with the sky looming darkly overhead. Once we made it to our campsite - Creek - the sky had opened up and let loose with all of its might. We remained in the Scoutmaster's hut until the worst had passed. Then we marched our way up to the Health Lodge, turned in medicines and health forms and marched over to the dining hall, where we learned the procedures for meals. We came back to camp, got our tents in order and then got dressed to go to the flag ceremony for dinner. At the flag ceremony, we had a competition to see which troop could be the loudest. Thanks to our sheer size, we made it into the dining hall third. Nick, Chandler and Brendan were our lovely waiters for our meal of spaghetti, garlic bread, watermelon and peanut butter and/or chocolate chip cookies. Right now, we are waiting for our fearless leader to return before the campfire ceremony. A few boys have also already been to the trading post, mainly for snacks and the like. The endless rain has pervaded through the entire day, but has not seemed to affect the boys' morale.
